Reviews
Great menu, Great prices and smiley attentive servers. Fantastic simple food prepared with care and great pride. Wide range of choices. And best of all Great atmosphere and perfect lighting. Sorry for rambling on. This area has needed a restaurant like this for a long long time. Go treat yourself and support this locally owned business. You will not be disappointed.
We don't make it out this way often but when we do The Ugle Rooster is on the agenda. They have a great selection of food for everyone. I am a vegetarian and I never have any issues finding something to enjoy they even have a gluten free section on the breakfast menu.
The food here is always good (breakfast or lunch),as is the service. It does get extremely busy on weekends, but it is still worth the wait. Usually never more than 20 minutes for a table. Prices are very reasonable.
Checked this place out for the first time last weekend. I can tell you that this is our new breakfast spot! Service is quick and very friendly, most servers have many years of experience and it shows. Coming from the south homefries are a staple for us. They knock these out of the park!! Will be returning very soon and highly recommend them to anyone looking for great food at very reasonable prices and awesome service. Also noticed starting at the end of January they will be serving dinners, excited to see what they offer.
Very festive diner with great food and service. We were merrily greeted by the host and enjoyed big hearty omelettes and eggs with Hollandaise, crab, and avocado. And we glimpsed the famous tattooed waitress to boot! Will definitely return.
A great diner with a lot of 'oomph'. Wonderful servers and a GREAT selection of all your diner faves and then some REALLY great spins on dishes. The Farmer's Scramble, and a variation on eggs benny in a potato cup! Excellent fried green tomatoes! Pancakes and waffles to die for (right now they have pumpkin). Expect to wait on the weekend if you don't get there early or close to closing (230). Enjoy!
If you love breakfast food especially pancakes but suffer from a Gluten allergy, come check this place out!
You get the real cozy feel of a Diner/Coffee house/Cafe being family owned is a plus. Customer service is punctual and attentive.
The seating plan is very open so no matter where your table is you're always in view.
Good, but it ain't the Rooster in Mechanicville.
It's got the same menu, except the prices are higher and the food doesn't come out the same.
Corned beef hash here has onions in it. Something about the meat is different, almost like it's processed twice instead of once.
The Ham and Swiss club is made the same but it lacks the chief ingredient, love.
Now I've never got a Reuben in Mechanicville but the one here has kraut on both sides of the meat. What that means is a soggy bottom bun when it comes out. To me, that's a cool that's never eaten a Reuben before. And for $13.50 when they're $10 in Mechanicville? Please..
Place was packed when we arrived. Jostled to the host to ask about seating. We were lucky enough to score some seats at the diner bar. Took 25 minutes for the food to come out, which is quick considering I counted 40 people in bar section alone. I've never been in a place so busy.
I don't hate it, but I'd rather drive the extra 15 minutes to the real Rooster
